Watchlist
Yum China Holdings ~ is it a buy?
What’s going on here?
$YUMC is China’s largest restaurant company. From a single restaurant in 1987, the Company now operates over 15,000 restaurants in over 2,100 cities and towns spanning every province and autonomous region across mainland China.
They have exclusive rights to operate and sublicense the KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell brands in China.
Additionally, they own the intellectual property of two brands, Little Sheep and Huang Ji Huang. You might not be familiar with these two names unless you've recently spent time in China.
Why does this matter:
I found SEC form 4’s tracing back to 2022. This stock has no history of insiders buying it’s really just selling.
Fast forward to August 13, and we start seeing buys.
Check out this handy table I made.
Trade Date | Insider Title | Price | Qty | Ownership | Value |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
8-16 | Dir | $33.74 | +3000 | +33% | $101,220 |
8-16 | GM, KFC | $34.67 | +3700 | +17% | $128,267 |
8-15 | CEO | $33.98 | +3800 | +1% | $129,109 |
8-14 | CTO | $33.36 | +4000 | +11% | $133,430 |
8-13 | GM, PIZZA HUT | $32.72 | +3900 | +9% | $127,605 |
Buys from both Pizza hut and KFC GM is a great sign and a strong indicator of confidence.
Technical:
We got a beautiful gap-up after a stellar earnings report. Consolidated for the past week, yet making higher lows every time.
For my breakout traders:
Buys: Over 34.60
Set a hard stop, or else I will find you.
$TMCI is ready for round two?
Some of you guys remember $TMCI, my very first call out and the largest trade of my life. Also, a very big reason why I even started Boring Data.
Quick recap:
I noticed around 5/15 that there was a huge cluster of trades that occurred within minutes of each other. The stock was incredibly undervalued and hit a 52-week low.
As it was reaching the bottom, insiders bought a significant portion in the $4-$5.40 range.
It broke out and shot to $8.50.
Now you’re caught up.
In total, there were:
12 trades in May
1 in June
2 in August
Fast forward, the price has significantly pulled back from the high of $8.50
CEO, John Treece, and Director James Treece purchased close to $1 million in shares combined on 8/14 - 8/15
This could form into a great setup in the coming days. Adding to the watchlist.
Nancy Pelosi makes $1.5 million on $PANW
After $PANW, Palo Alto Networks earning yesterday, Nancy Pelosi is now up 100% on her deep ITM calls.
She’s made over $1.5 million on $PANW and even better she bought the dip on the worst day possible.
